Let's kick off our 2025 Community Spotlight series with this new-ish gem in Lawrence, KS: Apache Selections! This small family business opened this past year, and it's located in the shopping center off of 9th & Iowa St (around the corner from The Merc and a few doors down from Munchers Bakery). A couple of highlights: Apache Selections is a locally and Indigenous owned and operated boutique, they showcase intentionally and ethically sourced items, and they bring a community focused approach in providing space for artisans to share their work. They have done an absolutely fabulous job at curating a huge variety of items in a small space; new on-trend clothing (inclusive sizing from XS-5X, and some Indigenous brands like NTVS), shoes, vintage clothing, handmade children's clothing, makeup, Groupie Candles (one of my favorites!), artisan jewelry, cute pincushions from EileenMadeThat, and even yummy chocolate from Bedré! The mock-neck top below had to come home with me, as well as some chocolate to try (including cowboy had shaped chocolates for my boys!).
