Welcome to the first in our new blog series, Exploring Lawrence Community Spotlight! Since 2020, I've been using my presence on Instagram (@exploring_lawrence) to uplift and showcase our amazing community of businesses, entrepreneurs, farmers, service providers, events, and more...it's time we brought some of that love to our blog! Do you have a business or event that you would like to see featured? A favorite hidden gem in Lawrence? Let me know!
This past Monday, a gorgeous new neighborhood coffee shop celebrated their soft opening in North Lawrence! Cleo & Leo on Elm St is located nearby the levee trail, with parking available on the neighborhood streets or the (free) levee parking lot just a short block away.
Gabriela Otero, owner, brings her many years of baking experience to Cleo & Leo, offering a variety of baked goods including cakes, cookies, macarons (which you might have tried at pop-up sales!), concha bread, and more. A full coffee menu features a Kansas City favorite, Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters. To my knowledge, they're the first shop to serve Thou Mayest coffee in Lawrence! Stop by and grab a treat, you won't be disappointed!
Visit Cleo & Leo at 300 Elm St, Lawrence KS, currently open Monday-Saturday 7am-2pm, and their website, Facebook, and Instagram.
